Getting Started With CBD
What is CBD?
CBD is a cannabinoid. Short version: it’s a molecule that interacts with your body in particular ways. It’s produced naturally by your body, and is also found in certain plants (like hemp).
CBD vs THC?
The most important difference between CBD and THC is that CBD does not produce a high. It has been reported, however, to help reduce or eliminate anxiety, and manage pain and inflammation.
What does CBD feel like?
Depending on how you take it, the effects come a bit sooner or a bit later. But the effects of CBD, the feelings it causes, are not as dramatically pronounced as you might be used to when it comes to cannabinoids.
How to dose CBD?
We always recommended starting with the smallest possible dose, and working your way slowly up until you start to experience the desired effect. Start with as little as 5mg, and increase on a weekly basis.
How long does CBD stay in your system?
A study published in both the Journal of Cannabis Therapeutics and Cannabis: From Pariah to Prescription found that the half-life of 10mg of CBD consumed sublingually is 1.09 hours.
Is CBD legal?
The legal restrictions around CBD can be summed up in two major points: You can’t sell anything with more than 0.3% THC. You can’t make claims about health benefits that haven’t been authorized by the FDA.
Types of CBD appplications?
When it comes to CBD, there’s a whole lotta options out there. You’ve got edibles. You’ve got tinctures. You’ve got lotions, creams, vapes and even hemp hearts. Once you’ve figured out how to buy CBD, the next step is choosing which CBD product to buy.
What are cannabinoids
Simply put, cannabinoids are chemical compounds that act on certain receptors (aptly named cannabinoid receptors) in your body. The receptors that cannabinoids act on are part of the endocannabinoid system.
Benefits of CBD with THC
There’s a little something called the entourage effect that describes how different cannabinoids (and maybe even terpenes) work together to produce a greater effect.
